Mostly Twigs
Almost all of these pictures were taken in the wild or semi wild, parks and such. Many of them were taken in Vancouver B.C. A lot are from Costa Rica as well as a few from Mexico. Most of these birds were going about their daily business often with a bit of curiosity about what the hell I was doing on their patch.
Because these shots are taken in the wild and my photography style is one of hiking, stalking etc. it's sometimes difficult (but fun) to get set up for that perfect shot. Of course serendipity comes into play and is one of the big attractions of this kind of shooting.

on December 19, 2007Absolutely magnificent, just like Violaceous Trogons are, perched camly and calling, hiding behind some light leaves and a lot of times making it hard to spot.
