Birds of Costa Rica
Most of these shots are in no particular order. Just examples from the five trips down there so far. Most of the time we were in the company of Noel Urena who is in my opinion one of the best birder/ photographers I've ever met. Noel is an excellent birding guide who also runs the largest Christmas bird count region in Costa Rica. His Birding guide website " Tropical Feathers" is worth a visit just for the photos.
With Noel and Luis, a friend of Noels, I had the opportunity to join in four surveys for the Dept of Conservation. They were wonderful experiences indeed. The link to Noels Tropical Feathers Birding website is at the top of this page.
Enjoy.

The same Red-Legged Honeycreeper on the way up to La Amistad International Park, Costa Rica.
Although one can't see a lot of the bird in this shot I find it evocative non the less. Perhaps because its typically how one sees these guys. Moving fast and flitting through the brush. Always keeping a branch between them and you.
Basically just cropped and some sharpening and levels on this one, I know that background looks too arty to be real but there it is.
