Finally, a Winter Wren actually in the winter and in the snow to boot. Jericho Park.
Northern Goshawk taking a female Widgeon at Jericho Park. The theory amongst all the birders is that this is the same individual who as an adolescent was in the park all of last winter 07/08. There is also a young adolescent that is now sharing the same pond as the adult. Since they seem to tolerate each other some are speculating that the young one is in fact an offspring of the adult. A sound theory I think.
