Needless to say to anyone who is familiar with the P.N.W. will know these guys are everywhere. They're clever and are always interested in what you are doing, just in case there is a scrap to steal and they always tell you where the raptors are. When I talk to them I swear I can see their little brain ticking over. In the morning I can hear them walking all over the deck of the boat, not sure what they do, they just seem to walk around. Although I don't photograph them much I never get tired of them.
A very saucy and curious Wilsons warbler. Jericho park.
This Towhee has a patch in a quiet part of Jericho park. On numerous occasions he has flown over in my direction and landed on a branch while calling out. As I move off through his turf he follows very closely, sometimes 3 or 4 feet away, calling all the time. I eventually figured out that what he is doing was ground feeding where I walked. I guess I would stir up the leaf litter exposing bugs and seeds. Probably more than half of all my shots of Towhees are of this friendly fella. I always enjoy going up to pay him a visit.
