Barred owl, Riefel
Hermit Thrush at Queen Liz park.
It looks like this guy is foraging but in fact he or she is bombing a Coyote that is about 10 or 15 feet beneath him/her. The Jay was making a huge racket which was what called my attention to the presence of the Coyote in the first place. This particular Coyote lives in Queen Elizabeth park and is relatively tame around the tourists and visitors. Not a good thing I guess. No one has fed it as it never seems to hover around looking for handouts. When I encounter the Coyote on a quiet path it merely detours around me and calmly goes on its way. The detours are usually done with the least amount of inconvenience to it. I've probably been within 10 feet of the animal on numerous occasions. I have a recent Black and white shot of the same animal in my North light gallery.
